What this actually is
A good business website has one job and it is not to win a design award. It is to take a stranger who arrived from a search result and turn them into an enquiry, on a mid-range Android phone, on a patchy connection, in under a minute.
We design backwards from that. What does this visitor need to believe before they call, what is the fastest route to the proof, and what is in the way. Aesthetics matter enormously, but they serve the sequence rather than replacing it.
